We provide emergency supplies, camping gear, foodstuffs, survival literature and other essentials you will need if some natural disaster shuts down normal services for any length of time.

Disaster can occur at any time without warning. There is no area in the world that cannot get an earthquake.

Though rare in some areas, it is useful to remember that it only takes one good jolt to shut down infrastructure or suspend service indefinitely. How much survival gear you should keep on hand depends on the likelihood of disaster impacting the geographical area in which you live.

It also depends on how concerned about the possible you may be. In general, it is useful to have several days food supply on hand and keep it rotated periodically to maintain freshness.

A good blizzard or snowstorm can easily strand people inside for a few days. Minimum preparedness demands you be capable of survival for a week without support services.

Those who feel this is unnecessary should could consider the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Those in remote areas have long understood the importance of self-reliance and often make preparations for any eventuality.

Food storage should include canned food items that can be eaten without heat should that be necessary. Some dried food staples should be stored and you should obtain supplies to cook without electricity in a prolonged shutdown situation.

Buy bulk foods for such staples as rice, beans, and whole grains. If you do not already know how to cook with these items, learn to do so.

Whole grains especially can be tricky for the uninitiated and mastering the art of cooking with whole grains will improve your diet and health. Freeze-dried food can stay close at hand in storage for up to 26 years for emergency situations.

With a long shelf life, freeze-dried foods will be a lifesaver in extended emergencies. It is also versatile and portable should travel become necessary.

Seeds are a prep item many forget to stockpile for extreme emergency situations. They are relatively inexpensive and can be stored for years and still produce a viable lifesaving crop.

Store foods you normally eat as much as possible so the stores are easy to rotate. Try to remember important items that are easy to forget but may be critical if neglected.

Whether you're an experienced prepper or just getting started, find all the emergency gear you need at Survival Shop and be prepared should the unthinkable occur.

From the Editor

I've spent years preparing my family to survive any situation. We live in an active hurricane, flood and earthquake zone and I'm concerned about other factors in today's world that can cause a breakdown of the basics in our way of life.

After my own experience, I wanted to make it fast and easy for others to prepare, so I've assembled these products in our online store for simple navigation and purchase.

I hope you enjoy our store and site. I welcome your feedback!
